Spotify, the popular music streaming service, is said to be looking into new AI-driven capabilities to improve its interface. Spotify may be in the early stages of building generative AI playlists after successfully delivering AI-powered DJ capabilities and enabling AI-translated podcasts. According to TechCrunch, these playlists would allow users to create unique music collections based on specific cues uncovered in the app's code.

These code references, discovered by Chris Messina, a software veteran turned investor, mentioned "AI playlists" and "playlists based on your prompts." He theorised that this capability may be included in the Blend genre, which combines users' musical tendencies to produce playlists that appeal to everyone's likes.

However, Spotify hasn't formally stated what it has in mind for AI playlists. A spokesperson from Spotify said, "At Spotify, we are always iterating and ideating to improve our product offering and deliver value to users. However, we don't address rumours about potential new features and have nothing to report at the moment.

In the middle of these rumours, Spotify just unveiled a brand-new social function dubbed "Jam," which is now accessible everywhere. For friends' groups, "Jam" enables Premium subscribers to establish personalised, in-the-moment listening sessions. With the help of this function, Premium members can invite other users to add songs to a shared queue, resulting in a customised musical experience for everyone present. With this function, Spotify hopes to improve social music sharing and make it simpler for users to listen to music in real time.

Users can start a "Jam" session and invite friends to participate; the tool also helps users choose appropriate tracks to queue up. While Spotify continues to investigate AI-driven improvements, "Jam" presents a fresh method for consumers to interact and take pleasure in music together on the site.
