Global EV maker Tesla has advertised a new job on its careers page with compensation of up to $48 per hour. Tesla's "Data Collection Operator" role aims to train the humanoid robot Optimus using advanced gadgets like a motion-capture suit and a VR headset. The role in Palo Alto, California, expects the candidate to walk "a pre-determined test route daily for data collection", according to Tesla.

According to the job description, this walk may include "designated movements and actions" based on the requirements. Plus, the program may also involve operating devices and software debugging. The employee must return feedback on the equipment's performance and analyse/report collected data.

As a Data Collection Operator for Tesla Bot, the employee must be able to walk over 7 hours a day, with up to 30 pounds (approx 13.6 kgs) weight. The height must range between 5'7" and 5'11", and the wearer will be required to wear motion capture suits and a VR headset for extended periods while serving in the role.

"Continuous hand/eye coordination and fine manipulation, body coordination and kinesthetic awareness and ability to walk up/downstairs" is a prerequisite for the role. Plus, the candidate must be able to "stand, sit, walk, stoop, bend, reach, crouch and twist" throughout the shift. The ability to travel up to 25 per cent of the time, daily regional driving and a flexible working schedule are among the requirements for the role.

Potential candidates for the full-time role can expect compensation in the range of $25.25-$48 (about Rs 2,100-Rs 4,000) per hour with cash and stock awards and many other benefits such as medical, dental, and vision plans.
