Airtel Mobile Recharge Plan: In an effort to respond to Jio and BSNL, Airtel has launched a new affordable prepaid plan that costs ₹189. While there hasn't been any official word, the plan is already up and live on the Airtel website as well as the app and can be recharged.
This new plan is obviously targeted towards users who simply wish to keep their number alive without spending big bucks on heavy-data plans. If you are in search of a simple recharge under ₹200, this may be just the ticket for you.

What Airtel's ₹189 Plan Has to Offer
With 21 days of validity for service, the ₹189 plan has the following:
- Unlimited calling to any network
- 1GB mobile data
- 300 SMS aggregate
It's a no-frills plan that's best suited for light users—if you're more of a caller than a streamer or browser. If you're the type who only wants to use the phone to stay connected and send the occasional message, this plan gets the job done without draining your wallet.
Not Suited for Data-Heavy Users
Do remember: this plan isn't designed for heavy internet usage. If you're a user who frequently streams videos or surfs a lot, you'll most likely require an additional data top-up, which can be added according to your usage.
Two Budget Plans by Airtel Under ₹200
With this addition, Airtel has two prepaid plans under ₹200:
- ₹189 plan – 21-day validity, 1GB data
- ₹199 plan – 28-day validity, similar benefits but slightly more validity for ₹10 extra
If longer validity is important to you, the ₹199 plan might offer better value. But for minimal users or those simply looking to keep their SIM active, ₹189 hits a sweet spot.
