Coming to Cook's rumoured replacement, John Ternus is responsible for hardware engineering and could serve as a long-term successor of the present CEO. Apart from Ternus, Gurman also speculates a possibility for COO Jeff Williams to fill in the shoes if Cook moved on in the "nearer term".
