Vivo V50: What’s New and What’s Familiar?

The Vivo V50 arrives as a successor to the Vivo V40, which was released just five months ago. Although there are many similarities between the two models, the V50 does bring some key upgrades. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, which was also featured in the Vivo V30. The dual rear camera setup, with two 50-megapixel sensors, has made a return, though Vivo assures that the new 50MP sensors are different from those on the V40. For selfies, the Vivo V50 offers an impressive 50-megapixel front camera.

The 6.78-inch quad-curved FHD+ display remains the same as the previous model, with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering smooth visuals. As for design, the V50 keeps the same basic layout as the V40 but introduces fresh color options, including grey, rose red, and starry blue. The body is slimmer, measuring just 7.39mm in thickness, and the glass back panel gives it a premium look and feel.

Upgrades in the Vivo V50

The most notable improvements are in the battery and charging speed. The Vivo V50 comes with a larger 6,000mAh battery, up from the 5,500mAh on the V40, and it supports faster 90W charging, a step up from the previous 80W charging. Additionally, the V50 boasts IP68 and IP69 ratings, meaning it has better water resistance, which is often reserved for high-end smartphones.

AI features have also been upgraded in the Vivo V50, with new functionalities like Circle to Search, AI Transcript, and AI Live Call Translation, making the user experience smarter and more intuitive. Vivo promises an enhanced camera experience as well, although specific details on the improvements remain a bit vague.

Conclusion

In summary, the Vivo V50 builds upon the foundation set by the V40 with improved battery life, faster charging, a fresh design, and some added AI features. With a competitive price tag and solid specifications, it’s sure to catch the attention of consumers looking for a feature-packed device under Rs 40,000.
