Vodafone Idea (Vi) is stepping up the pace of its 5G rollout in India, announcing the extension of 5G network infrastructure into twenty-three more cities. This marks a considerable milestone for the telecom’s phased progressive expansion plan, with particular emphasis on offering next-generation connectivity and improving customer experience.
Vi 5G Rollout: 23 New Cities Added
The latest high-speed Vi 5G spurred expansion results in access to the following cities:
Ahmedabad, Agra, Aurangabad, Kozhikode, Cochin, Dehradun, Indore, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Madurai, Malappuram Meerut Nagpur Nashik Pune Rajkot Sonepat Surat Siliguri Trivandrum Vadodara Vizag.

This further builds on Vi’s earlier 5G launches in Mumbai, Delhi-NCR regions along with Bengaluru, Chandigarh and Patna as part of a single larger strategy focusing on seventeen priority circles where Vi possesses 5G spectrum.
According to company estimates more than seventy percent of eligible users with access to active 5G zones have utilized Vi services.
Introductory Offer
Unlimited 5G data on certain prepaid plans starting from Rs299 for users with the right smartphone and flagged as eligible .
Vi CTO Jagbir Singh says:
“Our 5G rollout is progressing steadily, and we’re committed to delivering superior digital experiences. Simultaneously, we are enhancing our 4G coverage, currently reaching 84% of India’s population.”
New Add-On Option in Vi Family Postpaid Plans
Vi is also revising its Family Postpaid Plans by adding a new Rs 299 addon:
- Users can now add upto 8 secondary members to their existing family plan.
- Data provided to each added member will be 40GB per month.
- This increase in shared accounts allows users to retain control and access without requiring a shift to pricey bandwidth tiers.
Existing Family Plans Overview:
- Begin at Rs 701, accommodating between two to five users.
- Includes core data sharing along with shared OTT accounts, cap-free voice calling, and free SMS services.
