WhatsApp, a regular headline maker for its new features, is testing a new functionality in its beta channel on Android that deserves your attention. In the latest update, the company is developing an option to let users send photos and videos in their original quality, according to WABetaInfo.
As per the report, the company is working on this option on Android version - 2.23.18.12. However, due to its "under development" character, the feature is not available to beta testers yet. However, it shared a possible UI change that may debut after the feature.

According to the screenshot shared in the report, a new 'Choose from gallery' option, the accompanying text of which reads: "select original quality photos or videos" in the document picker, will let users easily share high-quality media content. In the current scheme, a user has to move across multiple menu windows within the media picker.
With the change, sharing videos and images in lossless form will become easy and a task of just a few taps. A beta tester must update them to check the availability of the feature in the future.

For context, the company recently released the option to send HD images and videos from the app. This came as a relief for users frustrated by the compressed output on WhatsApp. But the quality is still not as good as the original and undergoes slight compression. WhatsApp Update: Avatar Reply To Status
Moving to other updates, the Meta-owned app is developing an option to reply to WhatsApp status via avatars on Android. Thanks to the beta build marked as '2.23.18.9', the option to send a reply to a WhatsApp status will be available apart from the eight emojis. This will help a user better express their thoughts in a reply. However, a user must note that these features are not rolling at the moment.
