WhatsApp, an instant messaging platform, continues to grab headlines for testing UI enhancements and rolling out new features. On a similar note, the Meta-owned app is now rolling out the option to call up to 31 participants right from the start for iPhone users.

According to WABetaInfo, the feature is available in the iOS version "23.22.72", which can be installed from the Apple App Store. The news outlet noted that while the feature is not highlighted in the official changelog, it is rolling out for users widely.

As can be inferred from the screenshot shared in the report, the feature to initiate group calls with up to 31 people is visible. At the top of the "New Call" menu, the option to "choose up to 31 people" is available in the app. Previously, there was an option to initiate group calls with 15 participants, with the option to add the remaining candidates later. The upper limit was 32.

You can update the app from the App Store to check if the feature is rolling out for your smartphone. The social media firm also tested a similar feature for beta users in the "2.23.19.16" version on Android. This feature can improve the calling experience and save time by eliminating the requirement of adding members once the call begins.

On a related note, the company is also developing a feature to reply to support queries using AI on Android. It will be available within the "Contact us" option. "We will respond to you in a WhatsApp chat, some messages may be generated by AI using a secure service from Meta," the description of the feature read. You can learn more about this feature here.
