WhatsApp, a Meta-owned instant messaging application, continues to grab headlines for working on upcoming features and introducing new enhancements. In the latest move around this saga, the company is now working on a mechanism to respond to user queries via AI.
According to WABetaInfo, the feature is in the works in the Android beta build version: "2.23.23.8." It is under development at the moment and is not live for testing in the beta channel. For the unversed, WhatsApp Support enables users to receive responses to queries within ongoing WhatsApp chats that eliminate the need for an email ID for reaching out to Meta.
However, the feature has its limitations and offers default answers that are automated and might not solve the purpose completely. With the new AI enhancement, WhatsApp aims to improve the quality of the service and better support accounts in the upcoming days.

In the screenshot shared in the report, the text in the "Contact us" section reads: "We will respond to you in a WhatsApp chat, some messages may be generated by AI using a secure service from Meta." This will help offer relevant replies to users who reached out to WhatsApp with a query.
The feature is expected to reduce response duration, improve user experience and ensure efficient assistance to queries. According to the news tracker, this may also let users get responses from WhatsApp outside its business hours. Considering the feature is in the works on Android, testers can keep their apps updated to check the feature once it is rolled out.
On a related note, the Meta-owned platform is testing view-once voice messages and other enhancements. Another notable change is the feature to start chats with unknown numbers on the Windows App by entering their contact number. You can read more about this development in this report.
