WhatsApp, an instant messaging application, gains regular limelight for testing new features and updates in the app. In a recent move, the company is now rolling out the feature to allow the forwarding of messages and media in WhatsApp channels in the latest iOS "24.13.79" version, according to WABetaInfo. The version is available on the Apple App Store.
The update comes after the company recently tested the feature to forward messages and media on channels on Android. With the feature, channel owners can share messages, photos, GIFs and videos from any channel into their own channel. With the latest update, the company plans to introduce the same feature on iOS. As per the screengrab shared in the report, users can forward a message to a channel or group and enhance the experience of channel owners.
Existing iOS users having a WhatsApp channel can try out the feature by exploring the option in the forwarding picker screen. This feature can help reduce the content-sharing time and allow the posting of channel updates faster. Plus, this can reduce the effort for content generation.
