WhatsApp, a Meta-owned instant messaging application, recently started rolling out Meta AI for its users in India. Days after release, the company is now working on a feature to let users generate images of themselves with the help of the AI model, according to WABetaInfo. The feature is expected to be available in an upcoming version of WhatsApp on Android.

As per the report, the optional feature is undergoing development in the WhatsApp beta '2.24.14.13' version and not rolling out to testers. This update comes after the company was recently spotted working on an option to let users choose versions of the Llama models (Llama 3-70B or 3-405B) which they want to use based on the complexity of their responses.

However, in the latest attempt, the company could now be gearing up to allow enhanced personalisation via AI on the app. As per the image, the optional feature will allow users to create AI-generated images of themselves. In the screengrab shared in the report, the "AI-generated images of you" will ask users to take their images to get started.

After the first step, users may ask Meta AI to generate images of them by typing 'Imagine me..." while chatting with Meta AI. This feature may allow users to imagine themselves in settings like forests, outer space and more, the text in the screengrab read. "You can also use this feature in other chats by typing "@Meta AI imagine me...".

This generative AI feature may be available in an upcoming WhatsApp for Android version.
