WhatsApp Channels New Features: Instant messaging application WhatsApp is known for introducing new features on its app. Soon after grabbing headlines for testing a range of new options, Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg announced four new features that a WhatsApp channel owner should try. Zuckerberg announced these updates on his WhatsApp channel.

With the new enhancements, admins can share polls and voice notes in a channel. Plus, the feature to assign multiple admins and share channel updates as Status on WhatsApp in a revamped UI are among the newest additions. These features are rolling out on the latest iOS and Android apps and will roll out for more users in the coming weeks. Some of the features were spotted by WABetaInfo in development or testing.

"Hi everyone! We're announcing a bunch of new features for WA channels including voice notes, multiple admins and sharing to status and polls, which is great because I need help settling a debate," Zuckerberg said. These features can improve the experience on WhatsApp for channel owners and followers to cater to its large user base. For a more detailed look, here is what WhatsApp has announced for channels.

Voice Notes: With the feature, channel admins can share voice notes within channels for added personalisation in responses and a more dynamic appeal. Plus, it can let followers learn about the reactions and emotions of the speaker that may be absent in texts.

Multiple Admins: Spotted by WABetaInfo in testing, the option allows owners to promote admins to post content in a channel. It can help diversify control of activities on a WhatsApp Channel to multiple users and harness collaborations.

Status Sharing: When you share a channel update as status on WhatsApp, it will appear in a new layout to help contacts better recognise that the update originates from a WhatsApp channel. Plus, this can improve the visibility of a channel's content.

Polls: With the coming of polls, admins can now create and share polls to gather input from channel followers. This can act as an interactive feedback mechanism for followers.
