WhatsApp, a prominent instant messaging platform, experienced a global outage that included India. While accessing the Meta-owned platform, users experienced disturbances. The company responded quickly, stating that the downtime was caused by connectivity issues.
Some WhatsApp users had trouble accessing the service on their mobile and desktop devices, and others had trouble sending and downloading media. According to DownDetector, 76 per cent of users had issues while accessing the website, 17 per cent while using the application, and 7 per cent while sending messages.

"We're working quickly to resolve connectivity issues with WhatsApp and we'll update you here as soon as possible," the business tweeted in response to the issue in the early hours of Thursday. After about 20 minutes, it posted, "and we're back, happy chatting!"
The Meta-owned platform responded to a user who said, "Fix it before it is morning in India, don't want to miss out on the Good Morning messages," saying, "We're back, we don't want you to miss them!"
As per the outage monitoring website DownDetector, 61 percent of users encountered problems while attempting to send messages, 35 percent faced issues while using the program, and 4 percent experienced difficulties while using the website. During the peak period, Downdetector received reports from over 41,000 users.

During the outage, the micro-blogging platform Twitter turned in to a meme fest and users across the globe trolled the instant messaging platform with memes, opinions and witty tweets.
"Is it just me or is WhatsApp down?" a user questioned. Another user wrote: "Me turning my wifi on and off 7 times, but it was just WhatsApp down." The texting service had a two-hour long global outage the previous month.
In January of this year, the messaging platform experienced a server-side bug on iOS that made updating the privacy setting "who can see when I'm online" difficult. Last October, the site experienced a global outage that lasted more than two hours, including in India.
