WhatsApp, Instagram Down Updates: Jio users in India faced a service disruption, according to the reports on the outage monitoring website Downdetector. This has now been fixed as the outage graph has subsided on the platform. For context, users also reported problems with social media apps like WhatsApp, Instagram, Telegram, Snapchat, X (formerly called Twitter), Google, YouTube and more on the outage tracking site.

While the most significant outage reports concerned Jio (around 2,700), WhatsApp and Instagram seem to be relatively less affected as the outage reports stand at roughly 460 and 495 for these apps. Users also reported problems with X (over 780 reports).

Is WhatsApp, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, Snapchat Down In India?

According to Downdetector, around 370 users reported issues on WhatsApp at around 01:30 PM. For Instagram, these numbers stood at roughly 350. These numbers have subsided for these platforms. However, outage reports of Twitter (X) and Snapchat continue to rise at around 02:40 PM.

Reports for X and Snapchat stand at 780 and 1,200. For search engine Google and messaging app Telegram, these numbers stood at 470 and 370. Elon Musk's micro-blogging platform is buzzing with reports of service disruption on Instagram, WhatsApp, Telegram, Snapchat and more social media platforms. Most of these outages could be affected due to Jio's network disruption. However, the telecom operator has not shared an official statement concerning the outage.

11:45 PM Update: Jio's outage reports are down to under 100 after repeated spikes earlier today. Users reported problems with JioFiber, mobile internet and mobile services of the network operator. As per the outage heat map on Downdetector, most problems were reported from regions including Delhi, Lucknow, Patna, Guwahati, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Indore and more regions in India during the peak disruption hours.
