In a new WhatsApp update for iOS users, WhatsApp continues to get a strong grip of its Meta AI offerings on Apple devices. As per the recent reports of WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now rolling out a feature that will offer you direct access to Meta AI in the chat interface. As per WABetaInfo, this will be in WhatsApp version 25.26.10.71 beta for iOS. This version of WhatsApp is available via TestFlight, and is almost the same as the feature introduced in Android.
“Ask Meta AI” Shortcut in Message Menu
The messages menu will now include the all new “Ask Meta AI” option after this update rolls out. Users can interact and chat with Meta AI by selecting it and they won’t be needed to leave the ongoing conversation. The original text will appear as the quoted references, and will allow users to get more context before they send the query.
Instead of forwarding a message to a separate AI chat, users can:
- Verify news claims
- Seek clarification
- Request additional information
- Quickly fact-check content
This shortcut streamlines the process, making AI assistance feel more natural within the chat flow.

User Privacy and Control
WhatsApp clarifies that the Meta AI cannot see any of your messages until or unless you choose to share them with the Meta AI. Just simply tapping the shortcut button does not send the texts automatically to Meta. Users will need to manually confirm before sharing any content or text message with the AI, giving people full control over their privacy and they can decide what information reaches the AI.
This UI aims to reduce the spreading of misinformation and supports privacy by enabling the fact checking available right within the chats without disrupting the chat experience.

Availability and Rollout Plans
The wider rollout of this feature is expected in the coming weeks. Currently, the Ask Meta AI feature is available only to selected beta testers on iOS. However, WhatsApp is yet to officially provide an official timeline.
As Meta continues to integrate AI across its platforms, this update positions WhatsApp as more than just a messaging app—transforming it into a smart assistant for everyday conversations.
