JE Technology Desk: WhatsApp, an instant messaging app, continues to stay in the news for its upcoming features and updates. One such popular feature was WhatsApp Chat which was reportedly released to users on the app recently. And now we have the official confirmation that the company has finally introduced WhatsApp Chat, its official chat account.

According to the tweet shared by the Meta-owned company, the chat lets users know about the "latest tips, tricks, product and privacy updates" that will help them better utilise the app and ensure the privacy settings are configured correctly for the security of an account.

The company also highlighted that users will receive the first message discussing two-step verification. WABetaInfo reported about this in a recent report. "WhatsApp has an official chat account, where you can hear directly from us," the Help Center page reads. It will let users "make the most out of" the platform. However, a user must note that users cannot call or message WhatsApp on this account.

The account is marked with a green checkmark and a description: "Official WhatsApp Account". Plus, it will not ask for any personal information. Users must stay away from fake accounts without a verified checkmark. The Meta-opened app recommends blocking and reporting those who impersonate WhatsApp.

Besides the official chat, the company has two accounts: 'WhatsApp Support' for help and WhatsApp Surveys for feedback collection. A user can block the account if do not wish to hear from WhatsApp. "In some rare cases, we might still send you messages about important and timely information related to your account, even if you block the chat." the platform states.

The messaging app has been the top choice of users in India for instant communication. WhatsApp Chat account will help users get timely notifications of new updates and privacy tips to stay safe from scams. Speaking of more buzzing happenings, the app underwent a massive outage on July 20 at around 02:00 AM, which the company later confirmed via its Twitter handle.
