WhatsApp, which is currently testing a lot of new features under its Beta update, is reportedly adding a new feature using which the users will be able to communicate with voice chats using groups. The Meta-owned platform, according to WABetaInfo, a WhatsApp news and feature reporting website, will get a voice waveform icon which will be visible in the group chat, if the feature is enabled and compatible.
The report further suggests that the users soon after tapping on the icon will be able to initiate the voice chat and a similar interface will appear. The report suggests that the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.16.19 update from the Google Play Store got the feature and select users can get their hands on the features.

According to the report, group chat users can use the voice chat feature at any moment and begin communicating, just like individual voice chat users. If no one joins the voice chats after 60 minutes, it will immediately cease. This allows anyone to initiate an audio chat at any time.
The WaBetaInfo report also mentions that the feature is restricted to some specific groups and is accessible in groups which have more than 32 users. The feature can accommodate up to 32 participants in the voice chat but the configuration may vary on the users.
In terms of voice chats, the function is considered to provide a significant advantage by allowing calls to be initiated without ringing the phones of the group participants. The group will receive a silent message that one of its members has started a new voice conversation, and the chat list will display a thumbnail of the voice chat within the group icon.

Just like WhatsApp chats and voice calls, the voice chat feature is also end-to-end encrypted, which means the chats will be more safe and nobody will listen to it now.
The report also suggests that the new feature will be rolled out to more users with upcoming updates in the coming future. It is expected that the public update of the feature will also be introduced soon.
