500Hz Gaming Monitor: Samsung has just taken the gaming monitor game to the next level with the launch of the Odyssey OLED G6—the world’s first OLED display boasting a blazing 500Hz refresh rate. Announced on Sunday, the 27-inch QHD (2560×1440) monitor is designed for serious, competitive gamers who demand ultra-fluid visuals and lightning-fast response times.

Priced around Rs. 1,27,112 (or $1,488), the G6 will initially roll out in markets like Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, with a wider global release expected shortly after.

“With the Odyssey OLED G6, the world’s first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor, we are pushing gaming performance, visual quality, and immersion to entirely new heights — delivering the next evolution of display technology for gamers around the world,” said Hoon Chung, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business.

At its core, the Odyssey OLED G6 features Samsung’s own QD-OLED panel, blending the deep contrast of OLED with the vibrant, accurate color reproduction of quantum dots. It delivers a 0.03ms gray-to-gray response time and comes with support for both NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to minimize screen tearing and stutter.

Design-wise, the monitor sports a sturdy metal frame and slim bezels, with Core Lighting+ on the rear that syncs with on-screen action. Its ergonomic stand allows for height, tilt, and swivel adjustments. Connectivity includes DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI ports, USB-A, and a headphone jack.

For creators and gamers alike, the G6 delivers high visual fidelity—it's Pantone Validated, capable of reproducing over 2,100 colors and 110 skin tones, and carries the VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification. Peak brightness hits 1,000 nits, making it ideal for both dark and bright scenes.

Samsung also addresses one of OLED’s persistent challenges—burn-in—with a new feature called OLED Safeguard+. It combines a pulsating heat pipe and a dynamic cooling system, which Samsung claims is “five times more effective” than typical solutions. The monitor also automatically dims static elements to further prevent burn-in over time.

For anyone chasing cutting-edge gaming visuals, the Odyssey OLED G6 looks like the monitor to beat.
