Elon Musk's X, formerly known as Twitter, has changed the way news stories are displayed on the platform. X now no longer displays headlines for shared news stories, instead displaying simply the main image and the web domain name linked to the image.
According to The Verge, this change was noticed by iOS users who attempted to publish links but discovered that all that was viewable was an image and the related domain name. While this move seeks to streamline articles and improve the platform's appearance, it has angered some X users who can no longer tell what an article is about without its headline.

Recently, Elon Musk has urged users to post more content directly to X. In August, he extended an invitation to journalists to post directly on the platform, highlighting the opportunity for greater financial reward.
On X, news article posts now just show the primary image and the URL, leaving off the headline and content. Users can access the article through the lead image using the links.
Elon Musk has pushed X to use a structure where news items primarily feature a lead image and the source URL, with the image acting as a link to the complete story. This modification might be made to make room for more material on users' timelines by lowering the amount of vertical space that individual postings take up.
Some X users have, however, expressed alarm about this move. In response to a user's comment, another person said: "Aesthetics are one thing, knowing what you're going to read to want to click on it in the first place is another." The user voiced doubt about the loss of headlines while noting the benefits of earlier platform upgrades.
Meanwhile, Elon Musk has also announced that the platform is also working on live shopping, audio and video calls, along with the live streaming feature.
