User reports as per Downdetector show 38% of people having problems while accessing the app which was the highest and 37% of users having problems while loading the feed and its timeline, while 13% of users have reported problems while accessing the website at the time of writing this article.
What Data Suggests
Data from Downdetector pointed to a sudden surge in outage reports just before 12 PM IST, with complaints rapidly crossing the 10,000 mark. This indicated that the issue was widespread and not limited to a small group of users.
A closer look at the reports showed that most users were struggling with feeds and timelines failing to load. Many also faced login problems, while others reported issues with posting content and accessing the platform altogether.
The disruption wasn’t limited to a single device type either. Users on both mobile apps and desktop platforms experienced problems, suggesting a larger system-wide outage.
What Users Reported During The Outage?
During the downtime, several users encountered blank feeds with no posts visible, including their own. Some were unable to sign into their accounts, while others couldn’t engage with posts.
Posting content was also affected, as users ran into errors while trying to publish updates. In many cases, the platform behaved inconsistently, with features loading intermittently or not at all.
Current Status
Currently the downtime-detecting website Downdetector shows a dip in reports, with baseline reports showing 93 reports with the baseline standing at 1 at the time of writing this article. Upon checking the mobile app of X (Twitter) from our end, we found out the feed was loading properly.
X (Twitter) has not officially confirmed yet, what caused the downtime.
