Xiaomi introduced the Xiaomi 14 series in India with two models: Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. While the models debuted with a range of flagship features, the company is now reportedly gearing up to introduce a host of generative AI-powered enhancements to harness the capabilities of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which allows on-device AI like Samsung and Google.
According to a Gizmochina report, the Chinese smartphone maker has started testing its 'AI Treasure Chest' for the flagship smartphones. This apparatus reportedly comprises hundreds of AI features to improve the user experience of these phones. Among the notable features could be 'AI Surprise Wallpaper'.
The testing period reportedly spans from April 18 to August 2, 2024. Surprisingly, out of the roughly 40,000 users who were expected to show interest in testing the feature internally, only 78 people registered for the testing. Gizmochina, citing the source noted that the generative AI wallpaper feature could be released soon. Other AI features could help boost the productivity and creativity of Xiaomi 14 series users.

The devices sport the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chipset. These AI features may debut via an OTA update on the premium devices. It is tough to predict a precise release timeline for the AI features.
Speaking of other updates around HyperOS, the company shared that it is rolling out the Xiaomi HyperOS update for the Redmi Note 13 series devices. The lineup includes three phones: Redmi Note 13 5G, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus 5G. The new update on the Redmi devices brings a personalised lock screen, improved performance, better power efficiency, new animations and more changes.
