At Nvidia, artificial intelligence is now central to every employee’s workflow. CEO Jensen Huang has instructed staff to integrate AI into all aspects of their work, from coding to product development, framing it as “a tool for empowerment rather than a threat.”

During an internal meeting, Huang responded strongly to claims that some managers had asked teams to reduce AI use. “My understanding is Nvidia has some managers who are telling their people to use less AI. Are you insane?” he said, according to Business Insider. “I want every task that is possible to be automated with artificial intelligence. I promise you, you will have work to do,” he added.

AI in Daily Work

Huang encouraged engineers to adopt AI-powered coding tools like Cursor to make work faster and more efficient. He advised persistence when tools fall short: “Use it until it does. Jump in and help make it better, because we have the power to do so,” he reportedly said.

The AI-First Workplace

This emphasis on AI mirrors broader tech industry trends. Google and Microsoft report that around 30% of new code is already AI-generated, while Meta and Microsoft plan to assess employees partly on their AI usage. Amazon has also urged employees to switch to its in-house coding AI, Kiro.

While the push for automation has caused unease—Amazon recently announced plans to cut 14,000 corporate roles, with projections up to 30,000—Huang remains confident.

AI Will Not Eliminate Jobs

Speaking at the Milken Institute conference in May 2025, Huang stated, “You’re not going to lose your job to an AI, but you’re going to lose your job to someone who uses AI.” He reiterated this in the internal meeting, noting Nvidia’s rapid hiring: workforce numbers rose from 29,600 at the end of fiscal 2024 to 36,000 by fiscal 2025. Huang added, “Frankly, I think we’re probably still about 10,000 short.”

For Huang, AI is the driving force behind Nvidia’s continued growth. Employees who embrace it will thrive, while those who ignore it risk being left behind in the chip industry.
