YouTube Music, a popular music streaming application, is now rolling out the option of offline song and podcast downloads similar to smartphone apps on the web. Spotted by 9to5Google, the feature is now rolling out widely for users. It will allow Premium accounts to save downloads on the web for offline listening. The company is rolling out the feature via the "New! Download music to listen offline" message.

According to the report, it is available in the Library option within the sidebar. Do note that if users configure the feature on the web, the PC will count as one of the devices in ten devices. To clear the downloads on your computer, you can head to Settings of YouTube Music. You can find the download option between the "Save to library" and the three-dot icon at the top.

Once the downloading starts, a "Downloading..." option appears at the bottom-left with the progress indicator. After the download is complete, you can access the downloaded tracks in the "Downloads" tab. The available filters can help you organise tracks in the Podcasts, Playlists, Songs and Albums. While playing the audio, the company will notify users when the connection is lost.

According to Google, "Downloads remain available as long as your device has an active internet connection at least once every 30 days." Meanwhile, on Windows and Apple machines, you can take advantage of the features from web browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge and more. For Chromebooks, users can download YouTube Music's Android app.

The functionality requires a YouTube Premium subscription to start downloading songs. Speaking of other benefits with Premium, the app offers ad-free music listening, the option to switch from audio and video seamlessly, and a library of 100 million songs, videos and more. The individual monthly and Student plan starts from Rs 99/month and Rs 59/month.
