Youtube, one of the most popular video streaming sites in the world, is getting ready to launch an AI-powered dubbing tool that will assist content producers in translating their videos into various languages. The business revealed on Thursday that it is bringing the team behind Google's Area 120 incubator's AI-powered dubbing service "Aloud" to VidCon, an annual event for fans, producers, executives, and online brands, according to The Verge.

Aloud’s website describes the tool that will transcribe the video giving the video creators a transcription that they can review and edit after which will later translate and generate the dub. According to the report citing Amjad Hanif, Vice President of Creator Products, YouTube, the company is already testing the feature with hundreds of creators.

As per the reports, Hanif also said that Aloud is currently supporting only a few languages and will add more languages gradually. Further, the report citing spokesperson Jessica Gibby said that the dubbing tool is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

YouTube is "working to make translated audio tracks sound like the creator's voice, with more expression and lip sync," according to Hanif. But according to Gibby, those functionalities won't be available until the following year. The video-sharing website said in February that it was introducing support for multi-language audio tracks, enabling producers to dub their new and old videos in several languages.

Meanwhile, the company has also started rolling out 1080P Premium mode using which Android and Google TV users can watch the videos in full HD. However, the mode will be limited to high-quality 4K shot videos.

Previously available only to YouTube Premium subscribers on iOS, the feature is now gradually making its way to Android and Google TV users. Non-YouTube Premium subscribers can enable the feature individually, while Premium users will have it enabled by default.
