IPHONES are highly popular among the spiritual fans of Apple. While reports regularly feature the latest and upcoming models, the first iPhone from Apple is making headlines for being sold at an auction for $40,000. And the buyer is a popular tech reviewer MKBHD.
Marques Brownlee purchased the seal-packed iPhone with a "Lucky you" sticker at an auction in Chicago for $40,320 (over Rs 32 lakh). The price includes "sales tax, bidding premium and shipping," according to the YouTuber.
While you might consider it a super expensive bet, it would have been even higher if the plastic film outside the box was completely intact. However, you must note it just had one small "break". The surprise begins here. Here is a detailed overview of the box items that shipped with the first iPhone.
What It Came With?
After Marques unpacks the huge wooden casing and multiple layers of plastic packaging, we get the first look at the box. Once he unboxes the package and cuts through the plastic film, the phone is visible in new condition with pre-applied plastic on the screen.
The packaging includes a black-coloured microfiber cloth with iPhone badging. Documentations include a manual to set up the phone. Plus, two Apple stickers are there in the gasket. Coming to accessories, it rings the good days when the iPhones shipped with a bunch of accessories like the charger. A 30-pin dock with a headphone jack, a USB charging cable and wired earplugs from Apple are there in the package.
After the YouTuber plugs the phone to charge, the video resumes after 24 hours. MKBHD highlights the first iPhone did not have an App Store. Plus, a user was not allowed to change the wallpaper. Being an AT&T variant, it had a Macro SIM inside the SIM tray.
