Hyderabad News: The Hyderabad Road Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL) on Wednesday stated that it has initiated construction work on the much-awaited link road project, designed to improve connectivity in the city. The authority stated that the estimated cost of the project is Rs 4.87 billion and includes 24 major link roads. It further stated that the link roads will reduce traffic congestion and improve the connectivity.

The authority stated that the project will not only provide convenience to the residents, but it will also boost the financial activities in these regions. While providing details, the HRDCL stated that they are constructing a crucial road from Raj Bhavan Road to the R&B Guest House near Begumpet Railway Station.

Apart from this, a road will also be constructed to connect Begumpet Railway Station, Prakashnagar, and the Brahmanwadi railway track. The authority further stated that the construction will reduce traffic congestion as a large number of people reside in these areas.

Link Roads To Be Constructed On These Routes

The HRDCL stated that Phase 1 of the project includes several crucial routes, including Vanasthalipuram to Old Hayathnagar, ORR service road to Chevella road via Kismatpur, Ameenpur village to HMT Colony in Miyapur, and Badangpet Main Road to Turkayamjal via Nadergul. It further added that the second phase also includes key routes such as Mallapur Crossroad to Kurmlaguda, NH-44 to the industrial area at Ram Reddy Nagar via Foxsagar Lake in Jeedimetla, and Dammaiguda to Nagaram via ECIL.

Earlier in February, the authority had confirmed that the project will benefit the people residing in the high-density areas like Prakashnagar, Brahmanwadi, Kundan Bagh, and Mayur Marg. It stated that the situation gets worse for them in the peak hours as several IT employees reside in these areas.

The authority is also planning to use several advanced techniques, including Full Depth Reclamation (FDR) and soil stabilisation for the construction of these link roads. The contractors have been given a deadline of two years to complete the projects under the agreement.
