Hyderabad News: An unusual scene unfolded on Hyderabad’s streets late Saturday when an auto-rickshaw driver allegedly tried to intimidate traffic police by brandishing a dead snake after being stopped for drunken driving, officials said on Sunday.

Incident During Routine Night Check

The incident took place under the jurisdiction of the Chandrayangutta Traffic Police Station during routine vehicle inspections. Traffic personnel stopped the three-wheeler after suspecting the driver was under the influence of alcohol. On checking, the driver was found to be drunk, following which the auto was taken into custody.

Police asked the man to remove his belongings from the vehicle before further action.

Dead Snake Used As Threat

Instead of cooperating, the driver allegedly pulled out a dead snake and moved towards the traffic staff, attempting to scare them. Officials said he demanded that no case be registered against him and insisted that his auto be released immediately.

The situation briefly caused panic at the spot, but no police personnel were injured during the incident.

Case Registered, Driver Absconding

A case has been registered against the driver for drunken driving and threatening public servants on duty. However, after the confrontation, the accused reportedly fled from the location. Police said efforts are underway to trace and arrest him.

Video Goes Viral

A video of the incident later surfaced on social media. The clip shows the man holding the dead snake and repeatedly approaching a traffic policeman while arguing over the seizure of his vehicle. The footage has since drawn wide attention online due to the bizarre nature of the act.
