Hyderabad News: Officials from Telangana’s drug enforcement wing conducted a check at a private villa in Hyderabad on January 3 following information about suspected drug use. The inspection was carried out by the Elite Action Group for Drug Law Enforcement (EAGLE).
Ganja Consumption Detected
During the inspection, three individuals were present at the premises. The Siasat.com report cited Official Sources as stating that Sudheer, identified as the son of Adinarayana Reddy, tested positive for ganja consumption. The other two individuals were found negative.

Officials said Sudheer allegedly behaved aggressively during the inspection. No criminal case has been registered at this stage, as he was identified as a consumer and not involved in drug trafficking.
Taken For Treatment
The report further cited Sources as stating that Sudheer was later taken to a de-addiction centre by his family doctor for treatment and counselling. A senior police official confirmed that the matter is being handled as a consumption case.
“As he is a consumer, his parents will be called and counselling will be conducted,” the official told Press Trust of India.
Political Reactions
There was no immediate response from the BJP MLA on the incident. Meanwhile, the YSR Congress Party claimed that Sudheer had earlier been linked to a narcotics-related case, though no official confirmation was available on this claim.
Police said further action would depend on counselling outcomes and medical advice.

In a separate news, a final-year computer science student at IIT Hyderabad has created history by securing the highest-ever placement package at the institute. Edward Nathan Varghese (21) received an offer worth Rs 2.5 crore from Netherlands-based trading firm Optiver, surpassing all previous records since IIT Hyderabad was established in 2008.
Edward converted his two-month summer internship into a pre-placement offer and will join the company as a software engineer in July. A Hyderabad native, he credits IIT Hyderabad’s flexible curriculum and early focus on coding for his success. He earlier scored AIR 558 in JEE Advanced and has also excelled academically beyond engineering.
