In the latest development around the arrest of a former CEO of Hyderabad's prominent Hospital, the police officials have said that the accused allegedly sold her property worth Rs 1 crore to fund her addiction, as per a report by TOI.
The accused was heavily addicted and used to consume drugs multiple times a day. As per sources cited by TOI, she was "She abused cocaine multiple times a day, often up to 10 times in 24 hours. In fact, she woke up every two or three hours in the night due to the addiction."
Reportedly, she was on sleeping pills apart from cocaine. On May 9, the police visited her residence and informed her family that she was under their radar. They recommended that the family move her into a de-addiction centre.
"However, she misbehaved with the police and even got into an argument with them," TOI quoted their source.
The accused Dr Namrata Chigurupati, ex CEO of Omega Hospital, was arrested while she was purchasing cocaine from a Mumbai-based supplier named Balakrishna Rampyar Ram. 53 grams of cocaine were also recovered during the arrest made by the Raidurgam police near her residence in Shaikpet.

A police official said, "She was unaware of still being under police watch. Cops had suspected that she would commit the offence again and had kept continuous surveillance."
The police officials said that they first captured her movement. She met Balkrishna and paid Rs 5 lakh at the first meeting. Balakrishna, then, went back to Mumbai and handed the money over to a drug supplier named Vansh Thakkar, a DJ working as the regular supplier of the CEO.
Then Balakrishna took the drug and returned to Hyderabad to give it to the CEO. "Balakrishna travelled to Hyderabad at least 10 times last month. This raises suspicions about him supplying drugs to other consumers too. He was once a gig worker who later got into drug work," TOI sources said.
