Hyderabad News: In a major drive against encroachment, the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) on Saturday cleared Rs 4,000 crore worth of illegal structures. The authority stated that the construction was built on over 39 acres of land in multiple regions, including Hafeezpet, Kondapur, Madhapur, and Serilingampally Municipality. The HYDRAA officials stated that the property owners manipulated government agencies and violated the Supreme Court's directions.

While providing details, the authority stated that the government properties have allegedly been occupied by the Vasantha Group, adding that several buildings were made along with boundary walls even though the cases are pending in various courts. Hydraa commissioner AV Ranganath stated that the encroachers ignored the signboards. He further stated that the dealers are selling land without any permission.

"The inspection has revealed that 39 acres of govt land had been illegally taken over. Signboards clearly identified the land as disputed, yet Narne Estates had set up their own signage with contact numbers, marketing plots for sale. They were building roads and selling land without any permissions. Even the lake was being filled in," Ranganath was quoted as saying by the Times of India.

Ranganath further stated that the apex court had expressed concern over the ongoing illegal encroachments. "Despite the Supreme Court's order that no construction should take place until a final decree is passed, the firm went ahead with illegal construction. During a recent hearing, the court expressed shock and questioned how such blatant violations were allowed without judicial clearance," Ranganath stated.
