A Hyderabad woman was found dead in her apartment in Cyberabad’s IT hub, where she had been tied up, beaten with a pressure cooker, and had her throat slit with a knife and scissors. According to CCTV footage, two men entered the house, looted about 40 grams of gold and Rs 1 lakh in cash, and then fled. The woman’s body was taken into custody and sent for postmortem. A murder case has been registered at Kukatpally Police Station.

According to an NDTV report, the accused were identified as Harsha, a Jharkhand native who had been working for the family for just 10 days through a manpower agency in Kolkata, and Roushan, who was employed at a neighbour’s home on the 14th floor. After committing the crime, the duo bathed in the apartment, changed clothes, left their blood-stained garments at the scene, and escaped on a two-wheeler belonging to Roushan’s employer.
Renu Agarwal, 50, lived with her husband and son on the 13th floor of Swan Lake Apartments, a gated community in Cyberabad’s IT hub. On Wednesday morning, her husband and 26-year-old son left for work, but by evening, repeated calls to her went unanswered. Concerned, Mr. Agarwal returned home, and with the help of a plumber, entered the flat through the balcony, where he discovered his wife dead.
Police said the assailants tied Renu’s hands and feet, attacked her with a pressure cooker, and slit her throat using a knife and scissors before fleeing with 40 grams of gold and Rs 1 lakh in cash. Shockingly, they bathed and changed into clean clothes inside the apartment, leaving their blood-stained garments behind.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the prime suspects are two domestic workers, one employed by the Agarwal family and the other at a neighbour’s flat. CCTV footage showed the men heading to the 13th floor and leaving around 5:02 pm. Police suspect they carried out the murder and may have fled towards Ranchi.
