Telangana Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Telangana, forecasting rainfall over the next three days, along with a drop in temperatures. An IMD official stated that temperatures are expected to decrease by 2 degrees Celsius to 3 degrees Celsius during this period.
On Friday, Asifabad district recorded the lowest temperature in the state at 8.1 degrees Celsius, followed closely by Sangareddy and Adilabad, both at 8.2 degrees Celsius. In Hyderabad, the minimum temperature was 15.5 degrees Celsius, while neighbouring districts experienced cooler conditions, with Rangareddy at 11.1 degrees Celsius and Malkajgiri at 13.3 degrees Celsius.
Several districts in Telangana recorded temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. The Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) reported that Sirpur (U) in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district noted a low of 8.1 degrees Celsius. Other notable temperatures included 8.2 degrees Celsius in Nyalkal and Bheempoor and 9.7 degrees Celsius in Kotgiri and Jukkal.
The IMD has also warned of the impending impact of Cyclone Fangal, which is expected to cross the Bay of Bengal coast today. The cyclone may bring scattered rains, thunderstorms and lightning to various regions in Telangana over the weekend, particularly affecting the districts of Mulugu, Bhadradri, Khammam, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Nalgonda, Warangal and Hanmakonda.

A broader range of districts, including Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Jangaon and Hyderabad, will remain on alert for rain on Sunday and Monday. The IMD has advised residents to stay vigilant as weather conditions develop.
As Cyclone Fangal moves northwest at a speed of 15 km/h, it is projected to make landfall between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry after the afternoon of November 30, with wind speeds reaching 70 km/h. Heavy rainfall is anticipated in the Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra regions, prompting authorities to urge residents to take necessary precautions.
