Hyderabad School Holiday: The Students’ Federation of India (SFI) Telangana committee has called for a bandh on November 30 for government schools in Hyderabad and other districts across the state. The protest aims to draw attention to serious issues, including recent food poisoning incidents and the government’s failure to address the challenges faced by students.
According to a Siasat report, the decision to organise the bandh follows an alarming reports of food poisoning in government and welfare residential schools, which have led to significant health problems among students. SFI leaders argue that the state government has not taken sufficient action to ensure the safety of the meals provided in these institutions.

RL Murthy, President of the SFI Telangana committee, expressed his frustration at the government's indifference to these critical issues. “The lack of action is unacceptable, especially given the health risks our students face,” he stated. T. Nagaraju, General Secretary of the SFI Telangana committee, also condemned the government for neglecting the urgent issues affecting government schools.
In preparation for the bandh, the SFI has put forward several demands aimed at improving the education system and ensuring student safety. Key demands include:
Appointment Of An Education Minister: Telangana has been without a Education Minister for over a year. SFI leaders argue this vacancy has led to a decline in the education system and insufficient oversight in schools.
