Hyderabad News: In Kokapet, Narsingi, near Hyderabad, a man was allegedly killed by his wife on Thursday night following a domestic quarrel. The couple, Bharakh Bora and Krishna Jyothi Bora, had migrated from Assam and worked as construction labourers.

The Siasat report cited Neighbours as stating that, the couple often argued over minor issues. On Thursday, the pair reportedly had another argument. After the disagreement, Bharakh went to sleep. While he was asleep, Jyothi allegedly used a vegetable cutting knife to slit his throat.

Hearing his cries, neighbours rushed into the house. They found Bharakh seeking help and immediately took him to the nearest hospital. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to severe bleeding.

Police Action

The police have taken Jyothi into custody and shifted Bharakh’s body to the mortuary. A case has been registered and an investigation is underway to determine the exact circumstances of the attack. Authorities are questioning witnesses and collecting evidence as part of the ongoing probe.

In separate news, a Hyderabad woman has filed a complaint at Panjagutta Police Station, alleging that her US-based husband, a Chicago police officer, abandoned her in India while taking her passport, green card and personal belongings.

Hana Ahmed Khan, married to Mohammed Zainuddin Khan in June 2022, claimed that after their wedding, her husband returned to the US and did not reunite with her for almost two years. She travelled to Chicago in February 2024, where she alleged facing emotional abuse, mental harassment, and physical mistreatment. Khan said her husband pressured her to initiate divorce, which she refused.

In February 2025, during a purported family visit to India, he allegedly left their hotel in Somajiguda with all her important documents and jewellery, returning to the US and ignoring her attempts to contact him for six months.

Hana sought help from the US consulate, which she said was unresponsive. The case drew attention after MBT spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan urged the Centre to coordinate with US authorities. Hyderabad police have registered the complaint, and investigations are ongoing.
