Hyderabad is gearing up for a colourful and delicious festival that will attract kite flyers and sweet lovers from across India and 16 other countries. The International Kite and Sweet Festival, organised by the Telangana Tourism Department, will be held at Parade Grounds Secunderabad from January 13 to 15.
The three-day event will feature kites of various shapes and colours, flown by international and national kite flyers. It will also showcase 400 types of homemade sweets from different parts of Telangana and other states. The festival aims to promote the rich culture and heritage of Telangana, as well as the brand image of Hyderabad.
Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao expects 15 lakh visitors to the festival, which will have free entry for all. The minister also held a meeting with top officials of the state Tourism Department and delegates from various states to discuss the arrangements and solicit suggestions for making the festival a grand success.

Krishna Rao termed the city of Hyderabad as a 'Mini India' where people of all religions and regions live in harmony, adding that Hyderabad is home to people of all regions.
The tourism minister also stated that the International Kite and Sweet Festival will be expanded to other towns and rural areas of the state soon. He vowed to restore the glory of Telangana culture, arts and traditions.
