Hyderabad Weather Update: Hyderabad is expected to experience a temperature dip over the next five days as a yellow notice was issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday. With clouds in the sky, Telangana's capital is predicted to see a minimum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius and a maximum temperature of 33 degrees Celsius. One or two further spells of rain with thundershowers and strong winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph are also possible for the city.
IMD predicts that Hyderabad will likely see the same weather pattern for the next five days, with a high temperature of 33 degrees Celsius with frequent showers and thunderstorms. IMD has forecast thundershowers and strong gusts in the city towards the evening or nighttime during the next 48 hours.
The city is expected to have a clearer sky on June 16 and 17, when the maximum temperature may reach 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature may only drop to 24. There will probably be clouds in the sky.
From June 10 to June 12, the IMD issued a yellow alert in different Telangana cities, including Hyderabad. A yellow alert means 'be cautious' and implies unfavorable weather conditions that may worsen and cause disruptions to normal life.
The IMD warning states that isolated locations in the Telangana districts of Adilabad, Komaram Bheem, Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal are all highly likely to experience thunderstorms with rain and lightning.
Based on past records, the persistent rainfall may cause waterlogging and traffic jams throughout the city. Due to severe traffic congestion and rain, commuters were trapped in certain areas of the city on June 6 last week. There was considerable traffic congestion for several hours, even after the rain ceased later in the evening.
The unexpectedly intense downpour on Wednesday took commuters off guard, resulting in congestion and flooding at peak hours in Madhapur and Hitech City. Travel delays resulted from commuters being compelled to seek refuge in the metro stations.
