IThe Indore-Hyderabad Expressway, a major infrastructure project connecting Madhya Pradesh and Telangana, is now 70 per cent complete and expected to finish by 2025. The expressway will link two major cities, significantly reducing travel time between them by eight hours, cutting the current 18-hour journey down to just 10 hours., Times Now reported citing officials.
Indore-Hyderabad Expressway Route Map
The 713-kilometre expressway will connect Madhya Pradesh and Telangana through Maharashtra, with stops in cities such as Ichhapur, Muktainagar, Jalgaon and Akola. This route will directly link Indore to Hyderabad via Burhanpur, Jalgaon and Nanded.
Key towns along the route include Yellaedday and Bodhan in Telangana, Biloli, Nanded, Kalamnuri, Hingoli and Washim in Maharashtra, and Barwaha in Madhya Pradesh.
Once operational, the expressway will cut the travel distance between Indore and Hyderabad by 150 kilometres, enhancing the route for both logistics and tourism. This improved connectivity is expected to support Madhya Pradesh’s growth as a logistics hub, boosting economic opportunities and facilitating faster transport across these regions.

Indore-Hyderabad Expressway Timeline
The Indore-Hyderabad expressway’s foundation was laid on December 21, 2020, following its proposal in August of the same year. In April 2022, the 96-kilometre Telangana section was inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Construction continues on the remaining sections, with work underway on both Package 1 and Package 2 as of June 2024.
