Telangana Bus Accident: At least 20 people got killed and others got injured after a lorry carrying gravel collided with a state transport bus in Telangana's Ranga Reddy district in the early hours of Monday. While providing details, the authorities stated that the accident occurred around 5 am and created panic among the locals. The police officials, with the help of locals, admitted the injured to a local hospital where they are being treated. The bus had started its journey from Tandur to Hyderabad in the early hours and was hit by the commercial vehicle from the opposite side.
While thirteen passengers of the bus died in the road accident, the death toll includes drivers of both the vehicles. The eyewitnesses stated that some passengers were buried under the concrete after the collision as the entire load fell on the bus, reported PTI. The bus belonging to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) was carrying 70 people.
In a post on X, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy expressed shock over the incident. The CM ordered for sufficient ambulances and medical personnel, be deployed to save the injured individuals. He also asked the available ministers to immediately reach the accident site.
The authorities stated that the injured passengers were shifted to the government hospital at Chevella, where the condition of three of them is stated to be critical. The locals also stated that several injured passengers trapped in the rubble were crying for help, leading to panic.
Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar ordered officials to launch relief measures and provide the best possible medical care to the injured.This is the second major road accident in the Telugu states in less than 10 days.
