Hyderabad Year-Ender 2025: In 2025, Hyderabad saw an aggressive push against food adulteration as the Telangana food safety department stepped up inspections across the city. Acting on complaints, lab reports and intelligence inputs, officials conducted frequent raids on restaurants, bakeries, dairies and street food hubs, exposing unhygienic kitchens, adulterated ingredients and repeated violations of food safety norms.

Unlike routine inspections, many of these raids targeted well-known food brands and high-footfall areas, signalling a shift towards stricter enforcement. From elite restaurants and legacy bakeries to dairy supply chains and popular street food clusters, the crackdown brought several establishments under scrutiny. The year saw temporary closures, seizures of unsafe food items, licence suspensions and public disclosure of violations, making food safety a major civic issue in Hyderabad through 2025.

Here Are Ten Major Food Raids In Hyderabad

Pista House, Multiple Outlets

Food safety teams raided 25 Pista House branches across Hyderabad after public complaints. They found slippery kitchen floors, stagnant water in wash areas, uncovered dustbins, houseflies, unclean chimneys and food stored on the ground. Officers collected 23 samples for lab tests and noted missing cold storage records along with rusted fridges holding meat.

Absolute Barbeque, Multiple Outlets

Food safety task force raided 10 Absolute Barbeque branches across Hyderabad. Teams found reused oil, pest traces, open dustbins and improper food covers in kitchens. Notices issued with samples collected for lab analysis on hygiene and adulteration risks.

Pizza Hut Outlets, Greater Hyderabad

Statewide checks hit 18 Pizza Hut spots, eight showing violations like mismatched licences, unclean freezers and mixed veg-non-veg storage. Enforcement flagged poor machinery upkeep, leading to warnings and compliance orders for all affected units.

Domino's Pizza Outlets, Hyderabad Area

Ten of 16 Domino's outlets failed inspections for expired licences, overdue pest control, staff without proper gear and unsegregated food items. Rusty equipment and uncovered storage prompted immediate corrective demands from officials.

Sweet Shops Statewide, Pre-Diwali Drive

Raids on 95 units seized over 60 kg sweets plus 40 kg bread for synthetic colours in milk sweets, adulterated ghee and non-food-grade foil. Unhygienic prep areas saw on-site destruction of contaminated stock across Hyderabad and districts.

Bakeries Across Hyderabad, GHMC Inspections

Teams checked 90 city bakeries, uncovering insect infestations, open waste bins, missing FSSAI displays and no handler health records. Food handlers lacked hairnets; owners directed to fix hygiene or face closures and legal steps.

Highway Food Outlets, NH-65/NH-44/NH-163

Task force inspected 12 outlets like Lepakshi, Minerva and Utsav Dhaba, discarding 107.5 kg unsafe prawns, chicken, paneer amid expired stock and poor sanitation. Vendors hit with fines for hygiene lapses on major routes from Hyderabad.

Warehouses Statewide, Expired Food Seizure

Officers seized 1,903 units of expired/misbranded items from 75 warehouses near Hyderabad. Focus on supply chains feeding city markets led to destruction and probes into distribution networks.

Rachakonda Manufacturing Rackets

Police busted units supplying fake ghee, paneer across Hyderabad, arresting 52 and seizing tonnes of spurious paste with synthetic colours. Counterfeit brands targeted in major supply chain crackdown.
