Pahalgam Terror Attack: India has faced several barbaric terrorist attacks since its independence in 1947. These attacks have not just resulted in massive loss of life but have also left scars on the nation's heart that can never be healed. From civilians and government to even places of worship and open spaces, no place has been spared from these ruthless terrorist attacks in India. The terrorist attacks mostly happen with a motive of separatist, religious, or political. Here’s a look back at the brutal terrorist attacks in India since Independence.

The militants, who were between four to six in number, attacked a group of tourists, killing at least 28 individuals and injuring more than 20. According to survivors, the militants also ordered victims to recite the Islamic kalma, and spared those who were Muslim, but killed other people at close range.
