List of Countries in CCPI 2025:  Climate change is among the largest issues in our world today. Each year, the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) ranks nations on their performance in addressing climate change. The CCPI examines aspects like greenhouse gas emissions, renewable energy, climate policies and overall energy consumption across the globe. In the CCPI report 2025, 64 nations were included, along with the European Union. It allows us to glimpse which nations are moving forward and which need to move faster to safeguard our planet.

Which Is The Top Country In CCPI 2025?

Denmark is the top-ranked country in the Climate Change Performance Index (CCPI) 2025. However, it is ranked fourth for the fourth consecutive year because no nation scored high enough to occupy the top three places. The country is recognised globally for its good climate action. The nation targets to achieve net-zero emissions by 2045 and even negative emissions by 2050. Additionally, Denmark is a world leader in renewable energy. It was also the first nation to introduce a world-first livestock emissions tax to cut greenhouse gas emissions from farming. The country substantially invests in green technology and climate adaptation. Its administration is dedicated to redirecting climate tax revenue into environmentally friendly projects, which will benefit both the economy and the environment.

Which Is The Bottom Country In CCPI 2025?

Iran ranks at the bottom of the CCPI 2025 rating, with 67th position. Iran's low ranking indicates its failure to make progress in addressing climate change. The nation is significantly dependent on its fossil fuels, with a notable lack of efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Iran's climate policies are rated as extremely poor, with minimal investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency. Unlike other top nations, Iran has not made bold climate commitments or moved decisively to shift from oil and gas.

India’s Ranking On CCPI 2025:

India is the 10th largest in the CCPI 2025, among the leading major economies in combating climate change. It has held the top-10 position for years, and credit goes to the low per-capita emissions and strong growth in clean energy. The nation is developing large-scale green energy schemes with the ambition to build more clean power. However, challenges like overdependence on coal and the strong climate policies in areas like transport and housing are also needed. Despite these challenges, efforts in India are well recognised worldwide, and it remains a global power among developing nations in action towards the climate.
