*Temperatures drop well below -30 degree celecius in winter.

*The winter here starts in November and stays upto April, which leads to many challenges for the local people here.

*The residents here depend on cattle rearing, sheep farming and tourism for survival.

*People stock their and their animals’ foods of several months before winter starts here.

*Roads remain closed for several months due to snowfall
