Chenab Bridge Details: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the Chenab Bridge and will later flag off Vande Bharat trains between Katra and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. The world's highest railway arch bridge is located in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, and it is likely to significantly improve the connectivity in the Union Territory. The hyped bridge is part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla rail link project (USBRL), and it has been designed by several foreign firms. While the bridge was designed by prominent foreign firms, including German firm Leonhardt, the plan was executed by the engineers of Konkan Railway Corporation.
Here Are Some Of The Details About The Chenab Bridge:
- Chenab Bridge is higher than the Eiffel Tower of France. While the height of the Eiffel Tower is 330 meters, the height of the Chenab Bridge is 359 meters.
- The bridge's length is 1,315 meters, and it is 13 meters wide.
-The authorities have spent around Rs 1,486 crores on this ambitious project.
-This bridge can easily withstand winds blowing at a speed of 266 kilometers per hour.

- A total of 112 sensors have been installed in the bridge, which will give information about wind speed, temperature, and vibration. The authority had informed that 30,350 metric tons of steel had been used to make it.
-Konkan, Afkan and KRCL worked with Northern Railway to build the bridge. Apart from this, several organisations like DRDO and the Geographic Survey of India were also involved. IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi also contributed to the construction of the bridge.
-The bridge is so strong that even an explosion will not damage it.

The construction of the world's highest railway bridge started in August 2004 and it took more than 20 years to complete the ambitious project. Apart from improving the connectivity, the bridge will also give a boost to the financial activities.
