India’s Top 10 Most Famous OTT Platforms: Over some years, India has witnessed a rapid rise in Over-the-Top (OTT) streaming platforms. The major reason for the rise of OTT platforms is the affordability and availability of high-speed internet connections in every household, which skyrocketed the demand for digital entertainment platforms. Initially, YouTube was the only hub of entertainment for youngsters across the nation. With Western influence, Netflix started making a top-notch business in India, which gave the stage to other competitive OTT apps like Amazon Prime, Disney+Hotstar and many others.

The OTT platforms have transformed the way Indians consume content. They gave the audience a diverse range of movies, web series, documentaries and live TV, which was new to the population of crores. It was launched in India in 2015 (as Hotstar), however, the company rebranded itself in 2020, which turned out to be one of the successful business strategies of its time. 2. Amazon Prime

Amazon Prime has been the most direct competitor of Netflix in India, which made it the second most famous OTT platform in India. 3. Netflix

Initially, Netflix was the most famous OTT platform launched in 2016 in India. 4. Zee5

Known for its Desi content and original movies like Mrs., which is making a buzz on the internet lately are the reason for the continuous rise of this streaming platform. The platform also provides affordable subscription plans to its consumers. It also garnered massive viewers for its live TV and regional movies and shows.

5. JioCinema

Another Indian OTT platform, which is owned by India’s richest person Mukesh Ambani is making a place for itself in the entertainment market with its key streaming shows from HBO and Paramount. The pocket-friendly OTT platform is famous for streaming live cricket matches and live TV and it also has free access for Jio users.

6. SonyLiv

Sony LIV is the perfect OTT platform to watch with family. It is known for its exclusive access to popular Sony TV serials and live sports like UEFA Champions League and WWE. It also provides premium original content like Scam 1992 and Gullak, which gathered a huge list of viewers for the platform.
