List Of 30+ Bizarre Laws Around The World That Still Exist In 2025: The law and order maintain a stable framework in the society that ensures peace, security, and justice in the country.  Laws are meant to maintain order, but some around the world are downright bizarre. These strange regulations can range from quirky to absurd, which questions our understanding of legal norms around the globe. From laws against forgetting your wife’s birthday to The UK’s Suspicious Salmon Handling Rules, numerous bizarre laws still exist in 2025. 

As per Switzerland’s Nighttime Noise Ban, some apartment buildings legally enforce quiet hours after 10 pm, which prohibits tenants from flushing toilets, running dishwashers, or even showering. If found red-handed, violators may face fines or eviction. Japan is known worldwide for its healthy lifestyle and mindful living, however, Japan’s Metabo Law requires citizens aged 40–74 to maintain government-mandated waistlines (33.5 inches for men, 35.4 inches for women).

Recently, France’s Illegal Baby Names Law took the internet by storm, As per the law, French parents can’t simply name their child "Nutella" or "Strawberry."

India is no less, in parts of our country, the drinking age is 25 or more and flying a kite or balloon without a permit can land you in jail. However, in Thailand, it is legally required that everyone must wear underwear when leaving their house. In Arizona, cutting a cactus can land offenders a 25-year prison sentence.
