Shahi litchi, which is mostly grown in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, as well as in some areas of Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh, is well-known for its sweet flavour and unique rose scent. Harvested in May, this variety is highly sought after in both domestic and international markets. Depending on demand and quality, prices usually range from ₹85 to ₹145 per kilogramme.

2. Late Large Red Litchi

It is a late-maturing variety distinguished by its size and deep red colour. Litchis are produced well into the season and are primarily grown in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. The cost per kg is approximately ₹115.

3. Swarna Roopa Litchi

The Central Horticultural Experiment Station (CHES) in Ranchi created Swarna Roopa, which is renowned for having a high total soluble solids (TSS) content and being resistant to cracking. Jharkhand and the surrounding areas are where it is grown. Each kilogram costs about ₹130.

4. China Litchi

China litchi, which is grown extensively in West Bengal and Bihar around May, is distinguished by its large size and high pulp content. Customers love it for its juicy texture. The average market price is ₹100 per kilogram.

5. Kasba Litchi

The mid-season kasba litchi is primarily grown in Bihar. It is preferred for its steady yield and has a well-balanced sweetness. The going rate is about 90 naira per kilogramme.

6. Elachi Litchi

Elachi litchi is grown in parts of West Bengal and Assam and is named for its mild cardamom-like flavour. With prices ranging from ₹100 to ₹120 per kg, this variety is valued for its distinct flavour profile.

7. Purbi Litchi

Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are home to the early-bearing Purbi litchi variety. It is renowned for having moderately sweet, medium-sized fruits. The average price per kilogramme is about ₹85.

8. Early Seedless Litchi
