Pahalgam Terror Attack:  Baisaran is a dense meadow valley in the vicinity of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir. The place is popularly referred to as the Mini Switzerland of Kashmir, all thanks to its serene, picturesque landscapes. But the scenic destination turned into the location of a horrific terror attack on April 22, 2025. The serene valley of Baisaran, which is normally a chaotic but lively and vibrant travel destination, has turned into a nightmare as militants attacked civilians in one of Kashmir's deadliest attacks.

The militant attack in Pahalgam was conducted by the militants, who are claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF), which is an offshoot of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist group.. According to the survivors, the militants were in military uniforms and helmet-mounted cameras, who opened fire at tourists. The witnesses said that the attackers had specifically targeted men, especially non-Muslims, after ordering them to recite Islamic verses and even look for circumcision. In the tragic turn of events, more than 28 people were killed, most of them were tourists. Additionally, over 20 people have been injured. The Pahalgam attack was the deadliest civilian attack in Kashmir after the barbaric 2019 Pulwama bombing.

The government is taking significant measures in the aftermath of the heart-wrenching incident. The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, had called for an emergency security meeting, while the Home Minister of India, Amit Shah, confirmed he would personally go to visit the location and survivors. Additionally, the government has ordered a lockdown in some parts of Pahalgam, and the Indian Army is planning a counter-terror operation. The attack has sparked nationwide grief, with social media flooded with discussion about victims and calls for stronger security in tourist zones.
