State Flowers Of India:  India has diverse biodiversity, with each of its states having particular state flowers to showcase their natural heritage and cultural identity in the national landscape. From Gujarat’s bright Marigolds to the serene Lotus of Haryana and Karnataka. Each flower of each state has a story to tell about its region, like environment, culture, values and a lot more. These floral symbols are not just breathtakingly beautiful, but they also hold an ecological and historical stance of the Indian states. These flowers are not just symbols of Indian states, but a perfect blend of colour, shape, and symbolism. The Lotus, which is scientifically known as Nelumbo nucifera, is known for its beauty and purity. This flower of the lotus is the pride of Haryana and Karnataka as their state flowers. On the other hand, the epitome of beauty, the Palash or Parrot Tree, which has a scientific name of Butea monosperma, is world famous for its vibrant orange-red colour and is significantly found in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand.

Additionally, the south-India state of Kerala is symbolised by the Golden Shower Tree, which is also known as Cassia fistula. The flower is known for its stunning yellow flowers, especially during the festival of Vishu. While in the north-east India, especially in Assam, the Foxtail Orchid or Rhynchostylis gigantea is a must-watch, and another north-eastern state, Manipur, is famous for a flower, named Siroi Lily (Lilium mackliniae).

The western Indian states are not far. Maharashtra has Tamhini or Jarul (Lagerstroemia speciosa), which is known for its purple flowers. while West Bengal has Night-flowering Jasmine (Nyctanthes arbour-tristis) that is popular for its soothingly calming fragrance.
