The miscreant, who was shot dead by American security forces in a foiled assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, has been identified. The shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired shots during a Trump’s poll rally in Pennsylvania. One of the bullets grazed the upper part of Trump's right ear, causing it to bleed profusely. However, Trump narrowly escaped serious injury.
Who Was Thomas Matthew Crooks:
20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was a resident of Bethel Park in Pennsylvania. This place is located approximately 40 miles south of Butler, where Trump’s rally was organised.
According to Crooks' voter records, he was a registered Republican, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) stated in a statement on Sunday. Notably, Trump is also the leader of the Republican Party.
A record from the American Election Commission revealed that Crooks donated $15 to a political action committee, the Progressive Turnout Project, in January 2021, as per a report in CNN. This group is affiliated with Joe Biden’s Democratic Party.
The security forces have recovered an AR-15 from the incident site, which Crooks reportedly used to shower bullets at Trump’s rally. Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed after a bullet penetrated his head.
As per sources, cited by the New York Post, Crooks opened fire towards Trump from the roof of a manufacturing plant located 130 yards away.
