The 81st Golden Globe Awards are scheduled for January 8 at 6:30 am IST, with the ceremony set to be streamed live on Lionsgate Play. This marks the first Golden Globes event following the dissolution of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) in 2023. Michelle Yeoh, Will Ferrell, Angela Bassett, and Amanda Seyfried are set to be presenters at the Golden Globe Awards, joining the initial lineup of presenters. Joining them on stage will be Julia Garner, George Lopez, and Justin Hartle.

The 81st Golden Globe Awards are scheduled for January 8 at 6:30 AM IST, broadcasting live from Beverly Hills, California. Indian audiences can catch the live broadcast on Lionsgate Play starting at 6:30 am, with the red-carpet segment commencing at 5:30 am.
Golden Globes 2024: Nominations
The nominations for the Golden Globe Awards showcase 'Barbie' leading with 9 nominations, closely followed by 'Oppenheimer' with 8 nominations among the movies. In the television categories, 'Succession' takes the lead with 9 nominations, including for series stars Brian Cox, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook and Kieran Culkin, followed by Hulu’s The Bear.
In the category for Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy, 'Barbie' was nominated alongside films like Ben Affleck’s 'Air,' Cord Jefferson’s 'American Fiction,' Alexander Payne’s 'The Holdovers,' Todd Haynes’ 'May December,' and Yorgos Lanthimos’ 'Poor Things.'
Also, two new categories have been introduced this year-- 'Cinematic and Box Office Achievement' and 'Best Performance in Stand-Up Comedy on Television'.
Golden Globes 2024: What To Expect?
The Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by comedian Jo Koy, known for headlining various Netflix specials. Organizers praised Koy's 'infectious energy and relatable humour,' highlighting his selection as the event's host. Michelle Yeoh is making a comeback to the Golden Globes after winning Best Actress in a Drama Film for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once,' marked by a memorable acceptance speech where she humorously threatened the piano player attempting to cut her off.
Additionally, presenters for the event will include Angela Bassett, Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Annette Bening, Mark Hamill, Kevin Costner, Jonathan Bailey, Orlando Bloom, and Will Ferrell.
